Siliguri, Dec 14 (UNI) Two elephants tusks, worth over Rs 1 crore, weighing about 11 kgs, have been seized from two people, including a woman, of Assam by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), official source said.
The animal parts, smuggled from Nalbari in Assam, were meant for delivery to a person in Kolkata before the contraband to be smuggled out to Bangladesh.
Nazrul Islam (40) and Dipali Rongpipi ( 38), both the residents of Hojai, Assam have been arrested on Thursday night by the DRI officials.
