Hamirpur (HP), Jun 19 (UNI) Hamirpur district police arrested two drug peddlers during the last twenty-four hours for keeping heroin in their custody.
SP, Hamirpur, Dr. Gokulchandran Karthikeyan said today that one Raj Kumar of Thala village was arrested by a team of Bhoranj Police station and recovered 18.34 grams of heroin (Chitta) from his possession.
In another case, Hamirpur Sadar police arrested Shiv Kumar of Bhota Kaswa for keeping 6.26 grams of Heroin (Chitta) in his custody.
SP said that cases under section 21 of the NDPS Act had been registered against both accused and further investigation was on.
He said that the drive of the police against the drug mafia was on and it was yielding favorable results.
SP has appealed to the people to inform the police about the activities of people that were busy in such like activities so that they could not spoil the next generation of society.
