Two day conference on physiotherapy begins at SRM College

Chennai, Apr 21 (UNI) As part of its Silver Jubilee Celebrations,
the SRM College of Physiotherapy today organised a two-day
Conference on “Physiotherapy - Updates and Advancements”
ast its campus in suburban Kattankualthur.
Renowned speakers in the discipline of Physiotherapy would
address the Conference on the latest trends and futuristic
perspectives.
Delegates from the region will also have the opportunity to
interact with specialists in formal and informal sessions.
Post graduate studies in the College of Physiotherapy was
started under the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University in
1999. It is the only College permitted to start all electives of
post graduate courses under the Dr MGR Medical University,
a release from college said.
Moving to Kattankulathur from Ramapuram in 2007, the
Physiotherapy college has the distinction of being the first
in India to sign MoUs with International Universities like
Keele University, UK and La Trobe University, Australia.
The SRM College of Physiotherapy has also signed a
MoU with National Institute of Empowerment for Persons
with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD) for Clinical postings
and Research.
Apart from the routine syllabus, all graduating students,
before leaving the Institution, were certified and trained in
BLS and ACLS which were American Heart Association
Accreditated programs.
