Two criminals shot dead in encounter

Aligarh, Sep 20 (UNI) District police claimed to have worked out the sensational killing reported on Thursday when they gunned down two of the criminals involved in the crime on Friday last.
One of the police inspectors was also injured after being hit by a bullet during exchange of fire.
Police reports here said that station house officer of Harduaganj in Aligarh got information about presence of some criminals involved in two sensational crimes in the area on Thursday. The SHO alerted the senior officers who send extra force and the criminals were rounded at Machuwa Nahar Bridge. However, before the cops intercepted, the criminals opened fire so the cops also retaliated in which two of the criminals were critically injured while two others managed to escape.
