Two ASI' s suspended for taking money from truck driver in Birbhum

Santiniketan, Oct 15 (UNI) Two ASI (Assistant Sub-Inspectors) of Mohammad Bazar Police Station in Birbhum district have been placed under suspension and a departmental inquiry was initiated following allegations that the two policemen were taking money from truck owner, official sources said today.
The punitive action on the two junior police officials was taken after a truck owners’ association released a video of policemen “taking money” from the truck drivers at Md Bazar, district Superintendent of police Amadeep said.
Birbhum District Truck Owners Association President Anas Ahmed alleged that the truck owners were facing police "extortion and oppression" for this they were forced to release a video clipping of the police officer collecting money and another counting the same.

Two held in Delhi in major heroin trafficking cases linked to Mizoram

Aizawl, Nov 7 (UNI) Mizoram Police have arrested two key accused persons in connection with two major heroin trafficking cases, both linked to transnational drug networks operating between India and Myanmar.
Mizoram Police, in a statement on Friday, said that on November 4, a woman identified as Lalchhuanthangi (50), a resident of Khatla South, Aizawl, who had been living in New Delhi, was apprehended in the national capital by a team from Zokhawthar Police Station with the assistance of the Special Bureau and Delhi Police.
