Ankara, Aug 14 (UNI) Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan indicated on Friday that his government could downgrade its ties with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) over the latter's decision to normalise its relations with Israel.
Anadolu news agency quoted Erdogan saying that Turkey could even recall its ambassador to the UAE to protest this decision "We may take steps to suspend diplomatic ties with the UAE or withdraw our ambassador,", the President was addressing reporters in Istanbul after Friday prayers.
Erdogan also came down heavily on the Egypt and Greece for signing a maritime pact last week, he alleged that the pact violates Turkey's interests in the Mediterranean sea.
