New Delhi, Aug 2 (UNI) It’s not a rare phenomenon for a singer of the calibre of Tulsi Kumar to have rendered something unique that she has never attempted before.
Having had a distinguished and notable decade-long singing career in all genres of music, Tulsi has successfully transcended in all, be it soft romantic ballads, foot-tapping dance numbers, old classic retro or unplugged.
This time around, the dulcet singer is set to dabble with a Sufi track for the first time ever.
After a string of hit chartbuster songs like like ‘Soch Na Sake’, ‘Tum Jo Aaye’, ‘Paniyon Sa’ and many more, Tulsi will soon be heard crooning a romantic Sufi song for John Abraham-starrer ‘Satyameva Jayate’.
The song, titled ‘Tere Jaisa’ is a romantic Sufi song composed and penned by Arko Pravo Mukherjee and sung alluringly by Tulsi Kumar and Arko.
“ ‘Tere Jaisa’ from ‘Satyameva Jayate’ is unique from any other song that I have sung in the past and it's very special to me. Singing a Sufi number takes you into a different realm and it really is a divine experience as a singer. I hope listeners enjoy it and feel the Sufi connect,” Tulsi said.
Music composer Arko Pravo Mukherjee says, “Listeners will hear a different tone of Tulsi in ‘Tere Jaisa’. I have worked with her before and when she heard this song, she told me that she had not done a Sufi number and she surely surprises with her versatility in this song. ‘Tere Jaisa’ is a soulful track about submission and acceptance in love and Tulsi has added her own style which makes it more interesting.”
Produced by T-Series and Emmay Entertainment and directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, ‘Satyameva Jayate’ releases on August 15.
