Hyderabad, Dec 7 (UNI) In tune with the instruction given by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) interim Managing Director Sunil Sharma, during a meeting held with employees of the Corporation at Pragati Bhavan on December rpt December 1, TSRTC had provided employment to 33 eligible children of deceased employees who had died during the 52-day strike period.
TSRTC Senior Public Relations Manager G Kiran Reddy in a release on Friday night said District Collectors in the state had paid ex-gratia of 2 lakh each to 22 families out of 38 deceased employees.
Mr Kiran said the remaining families of the deceased employees will be paid ex-gratia on Saturday as instructed by the Chief Minister.
Instructions have been issued to Chief Civil Engineer and concerned Executive Engineer to properly and adequately build new Rest Rooms, Toilets at depots, change over points in Hyderabad City by December 15 compulsorily, for all lady employees of TSRTC, Mr Kiran said.
It may be noted that more than 48,000 employees led by Joint Action Committee (JAC) of TSRTC had begun the strike on October 5, demanding the merger of the Corporation with the Government, revision of pay scales, reduction of tax on diesel, filling up of vacancies and on other demands.
The TRS Employees had called off the strike on November 25.
