Trustees of hostel in Palghar booked for abetting suicide of inmate

Palghar, Dec 7 (UNI) The trustees of a hostel in Vasai town of the district have been booked by the Rural Police on the charge of allegedly abetting suicide of an inmate.
The 17-year-old victim allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself on Thursday in a hostel roon, police said.

Following her suicide, the girl’s mother filed a complaint with the Nala Sopara police station, alleging that her daughter ended her life under duress due to harassment by the trustees of the hostel.

An offence under section 306 read with 34 of Indian Penal Code has been registered with the local police station against the accused persons, sources said, adding, no arrest has been made so far in this connection.
