Trump needs Arab powers help to secure Israel-Hamas peace pact – Tory Peer

Washington, Nov 9 (UNI) US President-elect Donald Trump will need Arab powers to reason with Hamas if he wants to deliver on his campaign pledge to bring peace to the Middle East, Richard Balfe, a Conservative peer in the UK parliament, told RIA Novosti.
“The first problem to solve is that Hamas must realize that Israel has a right to exist… The Arab States in the region must also intervene to make Hamas see sense. President Trump will find it difficult to have much leverage without the aid of countries such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia,” he said.
Any efforts by Trump to bring Israel and Hamas to the negotiating table will be complicated by the incoming US president’s long history of support for Israel and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s defiance, Balfe said.
