Trump increasingly irritated by Iran's refusal to budge from demands amid approaching midterms and surging fuel prices

Washington, May 16 (UNI) Amid Iran's refusal to budge from its initial position, US President Donald Trump is growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress in negotiations, as the war has dragged on far beyond its expected duration, leading to surging fuel prices in the country, supply shortages, and mounting political pressure on the Trump administration ahead of the US midterm elections.
According to CNN sources familiar with internal discussions, Trump has become particularly irritated by Iran's refusal to compromise on any of its core demands, the continued disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, and what administration officials perceive as divisions inside the Iranian leadership, further complicating diplomacy.
Iran's latest response to a US peace proposal has reportedly deepened the already considerable scepticism within the White House on whether Tehran is genuinely interested in negotiations at all.
