Trump criticizes Israel’s pace in Lebanon conflict, urges faster action against Hezbollah

Evian, June 16 (UNI): US President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticized Israel’s handling of its military campaign against the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, saying the operation should have been completed more quickly.
He made the remarks during a bilateral meeting with the Emir of Qatar in Evian. The criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came after both President Trump and Vice President Vance electronically signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran on Sunday, while Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, signed for the Iranian side.
Leaders from the Group of Seven countries, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, Italy, and Japan are gathering in the Alpine town for the G7 summit, with representatives from the EU and Ukraine also among those invited to attend.
