Trucker arrested with poppy straw in Jammu outskirts

Jammu, Oct 22 (UNI) Police on Friday arrested one trucker with contraband of poppy straw in Jhajjar Kotli area here in the city outskirts.
Police said that on specific information one vehicle, which was coming from Kashmir and going towards Jammu carrying narcotic substance, was intercepted at Jhajjar Kotli.
“During search 73 Kgs and 360 grams of poppy straw was recovered from the truck hidden along with scrap,” police said, adding that the driver identified as Krishan Lal of Sheikhupur, Tehsil Arnia, District Jammu was arrested on the spot.
