TRP scam: Partho Dasgupta's bail rejected

Mumbai, Jan 20 (UNI) A Sessions court here on Wednesday rejected the bail application of former BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) chief executive officer Partho Dasgupta for his alleged involvement in the Television Rating Points (TRP) scam.
While rejecting the plea, the court held that prima facie material is available against accused Dasgupta, who was arrested by Mumbai police on December 24 last year. He is currently in judicial custody.
While opposing the bail plea, special public prosecutor Shishir Hirey argued that Dasgupta had misused his position as CEO of BARC for personal gain.
