Imphal, Jan 18 (UNI) Senior Assam Rifles personnel today gave a comprehensive presentation to Dr Najma Heptulla, Governor of Manipur about their role in safeguarding the Moreh-Tegnoupal-Thoubal axis.
They said they have been relentlessly carrying out numerous activities and programmes to bring about a socio-cultural and economic development in the society.
The Battalions have also carried out profuse laudable counter-insurgency and smuggling operations which ensued seizure of a large number of drugs, IED explosives, weapon and ammunition and apprehension of a number of insurgents and drug peddlers, thus giving a severe blow to their financial backing and nefarious designs.
