Agartala, Nov 6 (UNI) Tripura council of ministers in a meeting on Thursday decided to engage private partners for the implementation of Saksham Tripura, a project for comprehensive development of children with special needs (CWSN).
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said the project will be implemented across 400 schools having maximum enrolment of CWSN and an amount of Rs 321.74 lakh will be spent for the project.
Four implementing institutions, including ICFAI University, have been selected for the project, he added.
A total of 100 special educators will be trained followed by 15-day training to 50 master-trainers for implementing the module, Nath said, adding that the project will provide necessary facilities to CWSN to make education truly inclusive.
“At least one model school will be set up in each block headquarter in the first phase. The project will be implemented for a year on pilot basis and can be extended after evaluating the success of the outcome,” he stated.
