Tripura SI suspended, drug of Rs 1.5 Cr seized in 24 hrs

Agartala, Aug 18 (UNI) After a fortnight of removing woman sub-inspector Dipanjana Sinha from the service, Superintendent of Police (SP) North Bhanupada Chakraborty has suspended another Sub-Inspector identified as Mika Darlong last night for negligence in duty.
According to the SP, the suspension orders would alert the other policemen who are not willing to work as per the direction. The investigation of as many as five cases under NDPS Act were pending with him for a long time. Despite repeated reminders the investigation did not progress, which ultimately affects the justice delivery system.
Chakraborty, however, said his team had seized around Rs 1.5 crore Yaba tablets from two different places. Police raided a shop located at Rajbari under Dharmanagar yesterday, acting on a tip off and seized 10,000 Yaba tablets worth around Rs 70 lakh.
