Tripura mulls to set up Vocational Skill University

Agartala, Jun 25 (UNI) Tripura government has embarked into an ambitious project for setting up Vocational Skills University in the state considering the immense potential of northeastern states and neighbouring South East Asian countries to cater the industrial requirements.
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said here today that consultant has been appointed to study feasibility of the proposed university including streamline skill related activities. It has also envisaged the study of existing facilities for setting up of such university implementation of skill programs and scope of employability.
“The study will also include the existing set up of six technical institutes of the state and explore the possibility how to effectively use the available physical infrastructure in the state for proposed university. Besides, they would recommend need based courses for the industries of the region and neghibouring countries,” Nath said.
