Tripura Ministers call for unity and harmony through festivals for sustainable living

Ambassa(Tripura), Feb 20(UNI) Tripura Ministers Narendra Chandra Debbarma and Manoj Kanti Deb have called for strengthening unity and harmony through festivals at the inaugural evening of traditional week-long Biswarup Puja and Sanhati Mela at South Manikbhander in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai here last evening.
Before the formal inauguration, the Minister ignited lamps in the memory of Pulwama martyrs and observed silence.
While Revenue Minister Narendra Chandra Debbarma inaugurated the function, Sports Minister Manoj Kanti Deb was the chief guest. In their speeches, both the Ministers emphasised on such observation as it casts a positive and constructive impact on society. "Festivals and fairs are major parts of our continuous time and society. Whether it may be as huge as the Kumbha or as small as this one, the impact is the same on the society as they strengthen our bindings beyond the narrow dogmas and boundaries. Harmony is the very basis of human society. And it is surely strengthened by such arrangements."
