Agartala, Nov 24 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has announced a new flagship scheme of the state government Atal Jaladhara Mission to provide free water supply connection to households still uncovered.
Elaborating the scheme, the chief minister said that households in rural and urban areas, as yet uncovered by water supply, will be given free connection with the cost of pipeline and ferule being borne by the state government.
The project will be completed within next three years in a hassle-free manner and the initially estimated cost is Rs 105 crore, in addition the blockage, leakage and damage to the existing pipelines will be repaired at the same time, steps will also be taken to prevent misuse of water at the domestic level, Deb said.
