Tripura government trying to boost agricultural economy: Manoj Kanti Deb

Ambassa(Tripura), January 24(UNI) Tripura Minister Manoj Kanti Deb on Friday said the state government is trying its best to boost agriculture and economy.
The minister opened a renovated sluice gate which was left unused for many years at a remote bordering village the northern Tripura district of Dhalai today.
The sluice gate was left unused and unattended for a long time which allowed 650 peasants of the village grow only a single crop in their 120 hectare of farmland.
"The state government is working to boost the state of agriculture and peasantry. And, to boost up agricultural economy, irrigation facility must be ensured. This renovation would help the farmers greatly," Mr Deb told the gathering.
Recently, the Superintendent of Agriculture Department Dr Uttam Saha took up the matter and Durgachowmuhani Panchayat Samiti sanctioned an amount from PDF fund to renovate the gate.
In the programme, Agriculture Superintendent Dr. Uttam Saha, Chairperson of Durgachowmuhani Panchayat Samiti Sampa Das and local people were present.
