Agartala, Nov 10 (UNI) Tripura government has adopted the Central government guidelines of reservation for the persons with disabilities by increasing the quota from 3 per cent to 4 per cent based priority in all sectors of the state government.
As per the SC and ST Reservation Act in 1991, the law was amended several times and last it was amended in 2006. However, the state government made ordinance last week for horizontal expansion of reservation options, which would not affect others, said Law minister Ratan Lal Nath here today.
To ensure the equal opportunity of all 28 categories of disabilities, the state government has clustered them into four groups - Blindness and Low Vision, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Loco motor impairment and Cerebral Palsy, and Mental retardation and Mental illness according to the guidelines of the Central government.
