Agartala, Jul 18 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today reaffirmed that his government has already issued direction to the concerned authorities to take steps for procurement of food grains from the farmers to extend the benefit of Minimum Support Price (MSP) announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In the review meeting of agriculture department yesterday, Deb directed to take initiative so that farmers can sell food grains to Food Corporation of India (FCI). If FCI procures the state agriculture products it would be beneficial in two ways - the income of farmers will increase as well as the transport cost of FCI will reduce.
