Tripura assembly adjourned over an attempt of forcing students of Kokborok to Bengali script

Agartala, March 28 (UNI) Tripura assembly rocked with the protest of main opposition TIPRA Motha on Tuesday has forced the speaker Biswabandhu Sen to adjourn the house for 10 minutes over the alleged attempt to compel the students to write a board exam of the subject of local tribal language – Kokborok in Bengali script.
However, the Chief Minister finally assured the house to take a re-exam of the paper if during the inquiry found that students couldn’t write the exam due to the script restriction and also, to write CBSE regarding setting the question paper of Kokborok in both Bengali and Roman scripts.
Replying to the calling attention of leader of the opposition Animesh Debbarma, Chief Minister holding the education portfolio Dr Manik Saha denied the allegation that there was no such incident happened during the H S exam where students were barred to write the answer script of Kokborok in Roman script, which enraged the entire opposition bench including CPI(M) and Congress.
