Trinamool MLA, councillors join BJP

New Delhi, Jun 18 (UNI) As many as 12 Trinamool Congress councillors and MLA Vishwajeet Das joined the BJP along with their supporters in the presence of party's national General Secretary and West Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya and party leader Mukul Roy on Tuesday.
Congress spokesperson Pradeep Banerjee also accepted the membership of the BJP with his supporters.
Mr Vijayvargiya said there was anarchy in the Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government and people were feeling helpless.
'I have said that like general elections which were held held in seven phases, people from Trinamool will join the BJP. And this is just the first phase,' he said.The country is progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and West Bengal should also grow, he added.
BJP leader Mukul Roy said all corporators and councillors will join the BJP.
'This is just the trailor. Asli film toh abhi baki hai (the actual thing is yet to come,' he said, adding that 'Mamataji ka neend haram ho gaya hai, abhi aage dekhiye...(Mamata has lost her sleep, this is just the beginning).
Expressing his unwavering faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policy and leadership, Mr Vishwajit Das said that he has deep faith in the policy of Prime Minister's 'Politics of Performance'.
Under the leadership of Mr Modi, the country has been on the path of development, now it is the turn of West Bengal to form 'Sonar Bengal' and it is possible only in the leadership of the BJP and Mr Modi.
Trinamool Congress MLA from Noapara Sunil Singh, along with 16 councillors — 15 from Trinamool and one from Congress — joined the BJP on Monday.
