Trinamool hits out at Centre for Farm Bill

Trinamool hits out at Centre for Farm Bill

Kolkata, Sep 22 (UNI) Coming down heavily on the Union Government for the Farm Bill,
which was passed on Sunday, the All India Trinamool Congress on Tuesday said, " We
will fight your fascism from the pavement to Parliament. "
The party in its twitter handle stated, " Farmers are the pillars of our agrarian nation.
@BJP4India's unconstitutional attack on the grassroots of our society is proof of their
pseudo-nationalism. "
" We will fight your fascism from the pavement to the parliament, " the party asserted.
Yesterday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she apprehended the Farm Bill might
lead to "famine" in the country and alleged that the rights of farmers and farm labourers
were being taken away.
Ms Banerjee described as "Black Sunday", the day Farm Bill was passed in Parliament,
and said, "It reminds us of the great Bengal Famine in 1943. We are heading towards
similar situation."
Slamming the BJP Government at the Centre, Ms Banerjee alleged the Bill was passed
by force without heeding any rules and regulations.
She urged all Opposition parties to come together and fight these Bills tooth and nail.
Terming the suspension of the eight MPs as "unfortunate", Ms Banerjee said, "We'll fight
this fascist Government in Parliament and on the streets."
Ms Banerjee said, " Suspension of the eight MPs who fought to protect farmers interests
is unfortunate & reflective of this autocratic Govt’s mindset that doesn’t respect democratic
norms & principles. "
" We won't bow down & we'll fight this fascist Govt in Parliament & on the streets.
#BJPKilledDemocracy, " the Chief Minister asserted.
