Lucknow, Aug 20 (UNI) Earthquake tremors were felt in several areas of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow and Bahraich, in the wee hours of Saturday.
No loss of life or property was reported in the tremors so far.
According to National Seismology Center of Met Department tremors of 5.2 intensity were felt at around 1.12 am Indian Standard Time (IST).
According to the department, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 28.07 latitude in the north and 81.25 longitude in the east, 139 km from Lucknow, 82 km below the ground level. The impact of the earthquake was felt till the Nepal border.
Along with Lucknow, tremors were felt in Lakhimapur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Sitapur, Barabanki, Gorakhpur, Siddharth Nagar and districts adjoining Nepal border.
The intensity of the tremors was such that people specially those living in apartments came out of their houses.
As per the local administration of the tremor hit areas no loss of live or property has been reported so far.
