Transparency should be maintained in supply of sand: CM

Vijayawada, Oct 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to ensure that sand is supplied on subsidized prices to the poor for the construction of houses and maintain complete transparency in sand supply and ensure the prices are reasonable.
During a review meeting on the New Sand Policy held here on Monday, the Chief Minister said that the government was implementing the policy without giving any scope for corruption and also following the guidelines of environmental protection.
“Illegal mining should be curtailed and quality sand should be supplied at an affordable price. The State should not get a bad name and any lapse in the implementation of the sand policy will not be tolerated”, the Chief Minister said.
