Trader ends life in UP after failing to get assurance from BSP for assy ticket

Lucknow, Oct 31 (UNI) Failing to get assurance of a ticket from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for the Assembly elections in 2022, a trader reportedly committed suicide in Ghazipur district.
According to the local police, a suicide note has also been found from the person in which, he has accused the BSP of demanding Rs 2 crore for the ticket. The suicide note of the deceased has raised controversy particularly as recently in the Rajya Sabha polls, five of the BSP MLAs revolted claiming that their signature were forged in the nomination of BSP candidate Ramji Gautam. Local police is now investigating the matter to verify the facts mentioned in the suicide note.
The case is being reported from Maharajganj village in Sadar Kotwali area. Police reports said a municipality and BSP leader identified as Munnu Thathera committed suicide on last Tuesday night. In the suicide note which has come out, for a ticket in the year 2022 Assembly elections, he was asked to give Rs 2 crore to contest on BSP ticket. Relatives of the deceased say that he was associated with the BSP since 1987.
