Trade Union volunteers of 2 textile mills takes out procession

Puducherry, Dec 5 (UNI) All Trade Union Volunteers of Swadeshi and Sri Bharathi textile mills here on Thursday took out a procession to picket the legislative assembly to press their demands.

They were demanding among other things making the mills fully functional, lifting of lay-off and provision of full salary to the workers, provision of pending salary for 11 months and bonus since the last two years.

The volunteers took out a procession from the Swadeshi Cotton mills. After passing through the main thoroughfares of the town, the procession reached the head post office hwhere police blocked them.
They later held a demonstration in front of the post office and dispersed.
