Total foodgrain production estimated at record 144.52 mn tonnes during Kharif 2020-21

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) As per the First Advance Estimates for 2020-21 (Kharif Only), total foodgrain production in the country is estimated at record 144.52 million tonnes, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare said on Tuesday.
The production during 2020-21 is higher by 9.83 million tonnes than the average foodgrains production of previous five years' (2014-15 to 2018-19), the Ministry said in a statement here.
The First Advance Estimates of production of major Kharif crops for 2020-21 were released by the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare on Tuesday.
