Toll in TN van mishap increases to 9, AICC Prez Kharge condoles deaths of Kerala tourists

Chennai, Apr 18 (UNI) The toll in last evening's mishap involving a van carrying Kerala tourists, near Pollachi in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, rose to nine with the death of one more person on Saturday morning.
A total of 13 tourists from Perinthalmanna in Mallapuram district of Kerala were on a trip to the cool climes of the tourist spot of Valparai near Pollachi when the Tempo Traveller van in which they were returning, lost control, and fell into 800 ft deep gorge on a rocky terrain while negotiating a hairpin bend on the Valparai-Pollachi Ghat road.
Eight people were killed on the spot and the injured were admitted to the hospital. With the death of one more person on Saturday, the toll in the mishap increased to nine.
