Kolhapur, Sep 21 (UNI) Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana SSS national president Raju Shetty today demanded to sugar commissioner to provide sugar cutting labourers power through Sugar Cutting Labourers Corporation (SCLC) to all sugar factories for this year session to avoid suicide cases of sugarcane transport farmers.
Mr Shetty, who met Sugar Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad in Pune and handed over a memorandum of his demands, said that the state government has decided to give Rs 100 crore, collecting from sugar factories owners as Rs 10 per tone sugarcane and make competent to about Nine lakh sugarcane Labourers with medical, financial, education and social help but while resolve this issue (to provide labourers), goverment should to be conscious about to take away sugarcabe cutting labourers and cheating by its Mukadam, because of which sugar factory owners coming in difficulty.
Mr Shetty said to Mr Gaikwad that if a advance give to labourers through SCLC before began if this year's crushing session with registered them, then we would stop labourers run away incidents after taking advance from transport farmers and would avoid their suicides incidents in future as total 200 transport farmers had committed suicide due to run away labourers after taking advances.
