TN: Seven fishermen, reported missing, rescued

Rameswaram, Aug 5 (UNI) Seven fishermen, who were reported missing after they had set sail from Rameswaram for fishing, were rescued mid-sea by a salvage team comprising local fishers on Wednesday.
State fisheries officials said the seven-member crew of the mechanised fishing boat had drifted to Sri Lankan waters owing to strong winds after their boat engine developed mechanical failure. They were stranded in mid sea.
The salvage team which ventured into the sea in search of the missing fishers, this morning traced them off Delft Island. The team rescued their counterparts and towed the boat to Rameswaram.
