Chennai, Jul 14 (UNI) Tamil Nadu on Tuesday recorded the highest single-day spike of 4,526 new coronavirus positive cases, pushing the cumulative tally of infections to 1,47,324 even as the death toll increased to 2,099 with 67 more patients succumbing to the virus.
Health department in its bulletin said a record number of 16,95,365 samples of people were tested in 106 government and private labs all over the state till date, including 41,357 samples of persons during the past 24 hours.
As many as 4,743 COVID-19 positive patients were discharged after treatment today and the number of recoveries till date was 97,310.
