TN land of Nationalism, spiritualism : Nadda

Chennai, Jan 14 (UNI) Endorsing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
Edappadi K Palaniswami's effective handling of the corona
virus pandemic, BJP National President J P Nadda today
said if there was no AIADMK there would be no nationalism
and spiritualism in the State.
Mr Nadda, who participated in the BJP's pongal festival
celebrations and later at the 51st anniversary of Tamil
magazine Thugalq, said he was happy to celebrate the
Pongal festival in Tamil soil.
Hailing Tamil Nadu as the spiritual soil, he extended his
pongal greetings to the people of the State and euologised
Saint poet Thiruvalluvar, speaking in Tamil.
Noting that BJP would be the future in Tamil Nadu, Mr Nadda
said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had ensured that the State
was on the path of development, by sanctioning various
schemes.
Mr Modi has been involved in a lot of development work in
Tamil Nadu.
Lauding the Chief Minister for his pro-active steps in
bringing the corona under control, he said if there was
no AIADMK there will be no nationalism and spiritualism
in the State.
He said people who believe in Nationalism will vote for
the AIADMK in the ensuing Assembly elections, due in
April-May.
Mr Nadda said it was the BJP where the scientific development
was taking place and thus, people from different walks of life
were joining the party.
'We invite everybody and we've to make sure that we as a
mainstream party keep walking ahead in the state', he said
and pointed out to the 11 medical colleges and an AIIMS
given to Tamil Nadu by the Modi government.
Practically, every three Lok Sabha constituency will now
have at least one medical college.
Highlighting various measures taken by the Centre for the
development of the State, Mr Nadda said Rs 2,875 crore
was being spent on Chennai Metro and Rs 3,267 crore on
Monorail in the state.
Under the AWAS Yojana, 5.36 lakh houses have been constructed
for the poor and the 13th Finance Commission during UPA-II gave
Rs 94,000 crore to Tamil Nadu.
But the The 14th Finance Commission under Mr Modi gave the
state an astronomical Rs 5.42 lakh crore for development,
Mr Nadda said.
'Modi Ji has contributed and tried to see to it that the
whole country goes forward but at the same time, he's also
made sure that Tamil Nadu takes a big leap as far as
development is concerned', he said.
He also pointed out that Mr Modi highlighted Tamil Nadu and
its poets at the United Nations and different parts of the
world and country.
'This is the pride and love he has for this state with rich
culture and heritage', he added.
In his address at the Pongal celebrations, Mr Nadda said Tamil
Nadu has been the guiding force for the light of our nation
for centuries. It's a unique mix of economic development with
religious sentiments and culture.
This is a festival of farmers who have taken care of us and
the whole country celebrates it. However, it has special
meaning in Tamil Nadu.
It is a land of saints where I bow to the sages who've
contributed to humanity, he said.
