TN CM holds meet to seek NEET exemption for Ayush courses

Chennai, July 16 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on
Monday held a meeting with Ministers and senior Health Ministry officials to
decide the next course of action seeking exemption for the State from NEET
2018 to AYUSH courses and follow single window admission based on Class
12 marks from this academic year.
The meeting was held at the State Secretariat, in which Deputy Chief Minister
O Panneerselvam and senior Ministers participated.
Sources said the State was pushing for admission to 1,740 UG seats in 29 AYUSH
colleges, including 390 seats in six government colleges.
In February, AYUSH had asked state authorities to publicise that students should
clear NEET to get admission in Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy
courses.
