New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) A delegation of the Trinamoool Congress will meet the President Ramnath Kovind after the Diwali to apprise him of the prevailing situation in Tripura, and recent violence and attack on party leaders, party MP Sukhendu Sekhar Roy said on Tuesday.
"Not only our party is debarred from campaigning (Municipal polls) in Tripura. Everyday, when some of our activists are visiting some places they are being attacked, even our MP Sushmita Dev was attacked. Our local leaders are being beaten up everyday. We will apprise all these to the President for appropriate action," Roy said while addressing a press conference here.
Endorsing Ray, TMC MP Sushmita Dev, who was also present, accused the Biplab Kumar Deb-led BJP government in Tripura of "misgovernance" and said, "there is absolutely no space for any democratic or political activity of the Opposition."
