Three NRIs booked in Punjab fraud

Phagwara, Nov 17 (UNI) Three NRIs have been booked on the charges of duping a man of Rs 80 lakhs in the pretext of selling a land at Gaushala Road Phagwara.
A case was registered on a complaint by one Narinder Vermani, resident of Hargobind Nagar Phagwara, the city police registered a case under section 420/406/120B of IPC against three USA based Phagwara residents NRIs-- Mohan Singh, his wife Kuldip Kaur and son Satnam Singh.
The complainant alleged that he made a deal of Rs 2.55 crore with the accused for purchasing seven shops alongwith rooftops on April 9 last year and gave Rs 80 lakh in cash as advance money. The last date for the registration of Sale Deed before Tehsildar Phagwara was fixed as March 31 this year, but the accused did not appear on the fixed date.
