Three nabbed with 2 kg opium in Jalandhar

Jalandhar, Mar 15 (UNI) As the security has been stepped up in the district in view of the Lok Sabha polls, the rural police on Friday arrested three persons and seized two kg opium from their possession in separate cases.
The accused have been identified as Mukesh Kumar of Kalgi in Jharkhand, Guljit Singh of Mohalla Kamalpur in Hoshiarpur district and Manoj Kumar of Kohra in Katihar (Bihar).
Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Rajveer Singh said that during naka laid near Wariana Bus Stand, a migrant labourer on cycle tried to move back after spotting the cops, who chased and apprehended him following which he revealed his identity as Mukesh Kumar of Kalgi in Jharkhand. During search, the cops seized one-kg opium from a plastic bag being hidden by him.
