Three members of a Bike – Car theft gang held

Puri, Jul 22 (UNI) Pipili police today busted a bike and car theft gang with the arrest
of three members of the gang and recovered ten motor cycles, one four wheeler and
mobile phones from them.
Police identified the accused as Tahir Akhtar alias Nikki (22), Md. Karim alias
Tipu (28 ) and Asif Khan (22) all from village Danagohir under the Pipili police limits.
During interrogation they confessed to have committed the crime under
Chandrashakharpur, Laxmisagar, Mancheswar and Banpur police station limits.
Puri SP Umashankar Dash said all the three were forwarded to the court of sub
divisional judicial magistrate(SDJM) and the court remanded them to jail custody
after rejecting their bail pleas.
In another case Kakatpur police arrested two youths-- Loknath Behera and
Bishnucharan Swain and recovered one motor cycle, mobile phones, arms and
Rs 65,000 in cash from their possession while they were preparing to commit a
dacoity.
The accused were forwarded to court and the court sent them to judicial custody
after rejecting their bail petition, the SP said.
