Three jail guards suspended after inmate escapes

Deoria (UP), Dec 30 (UNI) Three jail guards have been suspended after an undertrial escaped from district jail, a prison officer said here on Friday.
Jail sources said that one Aman Pandey, a resident of Baraipar village under Rampur Karkhana area, was lodged in the district jail since December 16 on charges of rape. "Aman escaped from the jail on Thursday. All barracks and toilets were searched, but he could not be found," they said.
In-charge Jail Superintendent Raj Kumar said that the undertrial escaped in the guise of visitors, who come to meet the prisoners and inmates. "Police are conducting raids to arrest the inmate. Three jail guards Nazim Alam, Ajay Maurya and Shahsikant have been suspended on charges of committing laxity," he said.
