Three employees from a travel agent office abducted for ransom

Kolkata, Jun 26 (UNI) Three employees of a travel agent office in the city were today abducted at gunpoint by some unidentified people, who dressed in olive green and police uniform and opened firing when resisted, police investigating the kidnapping case said.
Eyewitnesses said the raiders, dressed in army fatigue and police union holding a gun first barged on the travel agent office at Sahapur colony in New Alipore and kidnapped five employees.
Later they returned with two employees and demanded a huge ransom for the release of three others. When the travel agent office owner came to know that the raiders were neither from the police nor from the army and charged them the tug of war happened and kidnappers fired a round from their gun to scare away and fled.

All 15 candidates for two LS seats clear scrutiny

Itanagar, Mar 28 (UNI) Altogether, 168 nominations filed for the upcoming Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections were found to be valid after scrutiny of papers on Thursday, while the process of scrutinising nominations against Itanagar and Daporijo constituencies has been adjourned till Friday, the results of which would be out by 11 a.m., an election official said.
