Three arms dealers arrested in S 24 Parganas

Kolkata, Jan 25 (UNI) Police today arrested three more arms dealers and seized four single barrel country-made guns from Canning area in South 24 Parganas, merely three days after as many arms dealers were arrested from same area with some 314 imported bullets.
Following a tip off from the security forces aided by plain clothed detectives, police laid the trap and arrested the trio red handed with guns and other incriminating documents.
Police also seized three/four mobile phones and cash of Rs 6500 from them.
Three days ago police had arrested three arms smugglers with 314 bullets imported from Siwan of Bihar. The consignment was on way to Basanti where recently factional clashes between the groups of TMC supporters killed two people, including a 10-year-old boy.
In a separate raid, three persons were arrested from New Town area prior to their robbery attempts last night, police said. Police also seized weapons from them.

Jammu, Jul 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday informed that 240 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), (55 from Jammu division and 185 from Kashmir division), have been reported thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 9501.
