Those who compromise culture and decorum need to be in reflective mode : Dhankhar

Kolkata, Jan 28 (UNI) Visibly annoyed over failing to attend Tuesday's Convocation ceremony of Calcutta University, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar averred that the actions of those who created or stage managed unseemly spectacle would resonate for long in the ears of cultured people of WB.
Taking strong exception to the development, Mr Dhankhar tweeted, '' The uppermost thought in mind while leaving Calcutta University without attending the Convocation is to ensure there is no compromise of the immense respect we have for Nobel laureate Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee on whom we are conferring honorary D Litt (honoriscausa). ''
Mr Dhankhar said, '' The actions of those who created or stage managed unseemly spectacle would resonate for long in the ears of cultured people of WB. ''

Tripura: BSF jawan engaged in poll duty dies in bus

Agartala, April 25 (UNI) A 27-year-old BSF jawan, hailing from Maharashtra and deployed for Lok Sabha election duty in the East Tripura parliamentary constituency, was found dead inside a bus on Thursday while enroute to the security camp in Kanchanpur under the North Tripura district.
