This is India's victory, not mine: Asha Bhosle on unveiling of her wax figure at Madame Tussauds Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) Asha Bhosle, the Nightingale of the nation, today said having her wax figure at the Madame Tussauds Delhi is a matter of pride for the country and not just India.
'I have won many awards.
.
.
I have got honours from the government and even hold a Guinness World Record.
I have got it all.
But the way I am, they (Madame Tussauds' artistes) have made me (the figure) like that only, and watching that is making me very happy and proud.
I am feeling proud of those who have made it for making it well.
I am happy that I am one of those they have chosen from India (for the museum).
.
.
This is India's victory, not mine," the legendary singer said after unveiling her wax figure at the upcoming Madame Tussauds Delhi.
The figure will be displayed at the Bollywood music zone alongside other leading singers in an interactive themed environment.
The zone will enable fans to sing and perform with their favourite stars – an experience only Madame Tussauds will offer after its opening on December 1 this year.
Asha Bhosle’s phenomenally detailed figure has been crafted from over 150 measurements and photographs.
Sculpted in a symbolic singing pose with a mic in ethereal cream and a gold sari, the star who is Guinness Book of World Records holder, is set to enthrall her fans at the attraction.
This pose chosen for the figure reflects her prolific carrier spanned over six decades.
Guests will cherish every moment when they pose next to the figure in a specially themed environment.
At the unveiling, Asha stood besides her wax figure, which is sculpted in a symbolic singing pose with a mic and has been crafted from over 150 measurements and photographs.
She posed just like the figure -- looking like a mirror image.
'Only the sari is different,' she quipped.
"It is looking very beautiful and they have caught every detail intricately.
The jewellery, earrings, neck piece, off white sari.
.
.
It's all like what I wear.
It's like I'm looking in a mirror.
.
.
If I wore that sari, I would have looked like this only," she said as she admired the figure, which will be placed in the Bollywood music zone of Madame Tussauds museum.
The special music zone at Madame Tussauds Delhi will display renowned icons from the Indian and International music industry such as Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga.
The enrapturing environment of the zone will offer an exciting chance to the visitors to strike a pose with these unforgettable artists.
Asha Bhosle said the Madame Tussauds’ team managed to get her every feature right.
“I’m really happy and impressed.
It’s like looking into the mirror.
They have worked really hard.
The team made me sit for hours to get every detail right - the hair, the facial muscles, even something as difficult as the eye.
They took one whole day to get the eye colour right.
I did not give them any specifications and they have done a great job,' she said.
Ms Bhosle said her son had already seen the figure before her and reassured her that it looked good.
Speaking on the occasion, Anshul Jain, General Manager and Director, Merlin Entertainments India Pvt.
Ltd.
said, “We take tremendous pride in unveiling Asha Bhosle‘s figure in Delhi.
During our various researches, we have noticed Ashaji has admirers from all generation and she is the perfect choice for the music zone.
MadameTussauds Delhi has got a chance to have the figure of Ashaji at the attraction, which is well-renowned for immortalising icons and constructing a mesmerizing domain for its audience to be able to taste a whole new version of entertainment.
