Theft in SBI Mamidikuduru branch in AP

Kakinada, Jan 25 (UNI) In a major theft in SBI branch of Mamidikuduru village in Konaseema region on Friday night, Rs 12 lakhs cash kept in a cash box was stolen.
The thieves also made a vain bid to break open the cash chest.
The thieves gained entry in to the bank by lifting the steel rods of the rear window while the watchman was on duty at the main entrance in front.
The police have registered a case and started the investigation.
It is believed to be the handiwork of criminal gang of Yanam.
Three ex-convicts from Yanam are being interrogated, police said.
