Theatre, stage artist Suhas Joshi felicitated for Sangeet Natak Akademi Award

Thane, Aug 24 (UNI) Noted Marathi and Hindi theatre and stage artist Suhas Joshi was felicitated at a event here for being bestowed the Sangeet Natak Academy Award.
The felicitation function was jointly organised by We Need You an NGO and Thane Arts Guild on Friday night.
In the function, she was presented with a Maherchi Saree and purse.
Prominent among those present for the function includes Chandrakant Kulkarni, Uday sabnis, Sanjeev sane and among others.
In her open interview Ms Joshi, 72, opened up and gave a glimpse of her experiences in acting and learning.
She told the audience how she got into the National School of Drama and her experience there.
Ms Joshi said recalled her meeting with Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri.
She also said that the present generation artists lack involvement in the acting and they want to show off. She recounted the old days when she used to perform 148 shows in a span of four months.
One should totally get involved in the role that he or she is playing and then only they can give a good product, she said.
Instead of bothering at how do you look like you should justify the role that is assigned to you, she added.
She said that she was mouled in the NSD by Ebrahim Alkazi, the noted theatre director.
IN reply to a question, she said that she wanted to act in other language dramas, including Hindi, English and Gujarati too.
