New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Sunday came under fire on the social media after a tweet on newly-crowned Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar's surname, in which he compared her with 'loose change'.
"What a mistake to demonetise our currency! BJP should have realised that Indian cash dominates the globe: look, even our 'Chhillar' (loose change) has become Miss World!," Tharoor tweeted.
The Congress leader got flak from the National Commission for Women, which demanded an apology from him for 'degrading Manushi's achievement'.
