Thane centenarian repels corona

Thane, Jun 30 (UNI) At a time when the city is preparing for a total lockdown, a 103-year-old man has been discharged from a hospital here post recovery from coronavirus amidst much enthusiasm among the medical staff.
The patient was admitted to the Kaushalya hospital for pneumonia related to Covid-19 almost a month ago and remained in the intensive care unit for around 20 days.
On Monday, he recovered totally and was discharged, Dr Sameet Sohoni, who leads the treatment of Covid-19 patients at the hospital, said.

The younger brother of the senior citizen (aged 85) is also being treated in the hospital and will be discharged within a couple of days, he said.
Meanwhile, the Thane city is preparing itself for a total lockdown from July 2 for 10 days and a meeting to finalize the modalities are underway between the Municipal commissioner,police commissioner and the collector.
Meanwhile, the Thane city police have put out a notice on its tweeter handle asking the people to stock their essentials for the possible total lockdown from July 2.
